Children
How soon can I allow
my children and pets back on the lawn after a lawn treatment? One
hour following
treatment is an acceptable timetable for lawn re-entry.
Pets
What
causes brown circles in my lawn? Dog urine?
Sometimes spots are caused by pets. Other problems could be the start
of disease activity or insect activity.
Is
it harmful to leave dog fecal on my lawn
Pet waste should be cleaned
up on a regular basis from a sanitary standpoint. Dead spots will occur
from either excessive urine or fecal matter.
Can I give my pet a
product that will reduce the brown urine spots
Yes, there is a product
sold at local pet stores such as grass saver.
Insects
and Disease
I
see white worms in my lawn. Should I notify Gran-U-Lawn
Yes, any creature other than earthworms should be reported to us for an
evaluation.
Birds
are feeding in my lawn, is this a sign of grubs?
Not always grubs. The
problem may be with Chinch Bugs, Sod Webworm or a host of other insect
activity.
How
can I tell if I have grubs?
Starlings and Skunks digging in the lawn is a good indication that a
problem exists. Brown areas or grass rolling up like a carpet is
another sign.
What
is the normal grub season?
Minor activity in the Spring but the heaviest infestation usually
occurs from mid-August through mid-October.
Homeowners responsibilities/ questions after a treatment occurs
Can I
cut my grass after I've had a treatment performed? If so, what is the
time table?
Your lawn can be mowed 1
hour following any treatment. Any broadleaf controls will be totally
dried to the leaf plant with our wetting agents.
Do
I need to water my lawn after a treatment?
No watering is required.
The only treatment that you may want to water in is the grub worm
preventative. If you can't water it in, it will sit at the soil line
for up to four weeks without losing effectiveness.
Is
the treatment effective if it rains immediately after it was applied?
The only aspect of our treatment which may be affected will be the
broadleaf weed controls. Using our wetting agent even light showers
will have little effect on elimination of targeted weeds.
Will snow cause problems
to my lawn after a treatment?
Snowfall before or after a treatment will have no effect on
treatment. Snowfall will help to dissolve granular
products.
Will Gran-U-Lawn
treat my lawn if it's covered with leaves?
Our techs will determine exactly what is too many leaves to service a
lawn. Scattered leaves will not hurt effectiveness as our granular
products will bounce off the leaf and disperse to the soil line.
I see white worms in my
lawn. Should I notify Gran-U-Lawn?
Yes, any creature other than earthworms should be reported to us for an
evaluation.
Should I rake the plugs
from my lawn after an aeration treatment has been performed?
Plugs should not be raked off of the lawn. Aeration plugs will dissolve
in a short period of time through natural rainfall and mowing schedule.
What
are the best times of year to plant grass seed?
Fall
is always best between Labor Day and the 10th of October. Patching of
areas in the Spring can be done but usually new grasses will be lost
with our first Summer heat wave.
What
are the best times to water my lawn?
Early in the evening between 5 and 7 P.M. or the best time in the early
morning between 4 and 9 A.M.
I'd like to contact GRAN-U-LAWN with a question or a request for an estimate.
